Itel P38 features a plastic body with a relatively slim profile. It comes in eye-catching colors of Galaxy Blue, Spruce Green, and Nebula Black.
A 6.6-inch display with 720 x 1612 pixels resolution is provided on the front with a V-cutout for the front facing 5 megapixels camera. The front camera also supports face unlock.
On the back, you get three vertically aligned rings, two of which houses the dual camera and the other LED flash. The rear camera comprises of an 8 megapixels lens paired with a QVGA bokeh AI sensor. Both cameras can record 720p HD videos.
A fingerprint sensor is provided on the back for providing security for locking and unlocking the phone.
The Itel P38 is a modest smartphone offering entry level performance. It retains the same UniSoC Spreadtrum SC7731E chipset found in the P37. This is also the same chipset we saw in the duo of the Itel A58 and A58 Pro as well as the Tecno Pop 6 Go.
The chipset features a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It powered by Android 11 (Go Edition). The cheap android phone offers 2GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage. You can expand storage by up to 64GB via a memory card slot.
Itel P38 sports a 5000 mAh battery. The battery stamina is okay with up to 26 hours talktime and up to 10 hours video playback time. Unlike its predecessor the smartphone features fast charging, thanks to the 15W fast charging capacity.
The android phone has dual SIMs with a 3G support on both SIM slots. It does not support 4G LTE, go for the Itel P38 Pro if you want 4G connectivity. The smartphone supports for FM radio, Bluetooth, and micro USB. You will get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.
